We got up at about 7 am and finished packing up and getting everything
ready to go. We left the house at about 9:00 am and went to the bank
and the Blimpie to get some subs for later in case we got hungry on the
plane.
We arrived at BWI at about 9:50 am. We checked our luggage with the
skycaps and got our boarding pass. We then made our way through
security and went to wait for the plane. We had about an hour and a
half wait but I’d always rather be early than late and rushing around.
We boarded the plane on time and flew about 40 minutes to Norfolk. We
didn’t have to change planes but most everyone got off and a completely
full plane boarded, UGH! It was so damned uncomfortable. Scott and I
watched Mr. Deeds on the laptop and he played his Casino game
(practicing) for a bit. I tried to nap here and there and I did some
reading.
We finally arrived in Las Vegas, 3:20 Pacific Time. We got our rental
car (upgraded to Premium so Scott could have his XM Radio) and then
sat in the some chairs in the airport and finally had our subs. We caught
the shuttle to the Avis lot and picked up our Buick Le Sabre. We hit the
road to Anaheim. We would have made it in about 3 hours or so but
took the wrong Chapman Road exit and ended up taking the scenic
route.
We arrived at our hotel and checked in. The Crowne Plaza was a VERY
nice hotel and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. The price was
right (Priceline $45, $63 after taxes & fees) and it has a great location!
There is a Red Robin, an Outback Steakhouse, and a Joe’s Crab Shack
all within walking distance and the Target was across the street.
Jamie & Michelle made their way to the hotel as we settled in a few
minutes. We left there and went to get dinner at Mimi’s Café. Jamie &
I had the crab cake dinner, Michelle had chicken fingers and Scott had
the fish & chips. It was all delicious!
We went back to the hotel and just hung out chatting until about 1 am
(Pacific Time – 4 am Eastern time for us). We had a good time just
chatting and laughin away.
We crashed right away with a wake up call set for 8:30 am.
